Dratsi Trap

A breezy day, and showers this morning.  It dried up, with a cloudy afternoon and some sunny spells this evening.  It's been a cold day.  Still light at 10.30pm now.  

Up early and headed off to the picnic table desk.  More scanning of photos.  I knocked off a bit early, as niece Elise was needing some company for a walk, and mam also (social distancing of course).  More walkies this evening, and big Brian and Madeline popped by for a chat over the fence.  Family Facetime call tonight, and also another with friends.  It's been well over three weeks now since our last Coronavirus case, hope this continues.

Met up with mam and Elise near Elise's dad's house, and walked along the banks.  Various things to look at and gathered a few things for the garden, and then came along this old otter trap.  They are common around Shetland, and thankfully no longer in use and most in disrepair.  The otters were generally caught for their fur, but also as a pest control too.  Thank goodness they have recovered from this horrible time in history, and numbers are great now, which might also have a downside to bird numbers.  Taken at the Holm of Taing, East Burra.
