An up and down kinda Friday

I woke up today feeling a bit sad. I'm not the most demonstrative person in the entire world but I haven't touched another human being in more than 8 weeks. I think that kind of stuff really starts to get to you after a while. Or maybe it was due to some late night tensions with work last night.

My morning got worse when I had to deal with the miscommunication from the night before which had left me feeling frustrated and angry and then obviously emotional after the eventual confrontation. I'm a feminist but....I wonder if this would have had the same emotional impact if it was two men in the same situation. Thankfully there was some resolution at the end of it.

Then there was the joy of receiving Becci's final Campfire Cooking video before she is furloughed next week (it was epic) and then sadness because I probably won't get to work with her again until September.

The satisfaction of writing a quiz and then the delight at seeing some young people take part in it over Zoom (plus sakalasafari joining in from Zambia!)

Literally wetting myself at a video of my God-daughter and her brother trying out their new trampoline and Claire's utterly hilarious commentary. I'm still laughing about it now.

Finally plucking up courage to order an inflatable kayak for dad and I to enjoy with a bit of our free time.

A nice evening catch up with my Marco Polo faves: musicalblips and robaharris35. Always a lovely way to spend an evening in lockdown.

Happiness being found in a deliciously indulgent risotto, an sunny evening walk and the satisfaction of finishing a puzzle.

On reflection, it was more of a down morning with a gradual lifting during the day kinda Friday.
