Blast
We watched some sailing boats go out of the marina this morning. It was a stiff North Easterly and so they would have had quite a fast blast down the Little Russel with plenty of tacks to get back to the marina again. It was jolly cold too so please do not be deceived by the sparkling sea!
This afternoon we passed by the mast in town and the Liberation flags were still flying. (see extra) This was at 5:30 and there were three cars around. On a normal Friday at this time the area would be completely congested with traffic.
We finally managed a third conversation with Dyson this morning and a new cleaner has been dispatched! At last!
The roofing company have finally arrived and put up some scaffold, with luck the roof should be fixed next week. It has only taken since Christmas to get this far. Repairing inside will be the next step.
Today we moved into Lockdown exit phase 3. With only 7 people still suffering with covid and no new infections for 15 days Guernsey is apparently heading towards elimination of the virus. It seems from tomorrow Takeaways, bicycle shops, sports shops, garden shops and children's clothes shops can open. I think it might be that beach kiosks will be able to open soon too. The Primary school children will return to school from the 9th June for two days each week. Exactly half the children will be at school at any given time and on each Wednesday the school's will be deep cleaned.
We saw that all flights apart from the daily essential flight to Southampton are now cancelled until the end of August. Guernsey will be a castaway island this summer.
