The English Patient

I first watched the movie based on this book (please don’t hurt me) then spotted this first edition at a thrift shop and had to buy it. When I started reading I naturally regretted my decision to watch the movie first, but without the movie (which won 9 oscars) I probably would not have given this book a second glance.

Every night I cut out my heart. But in the morning it was full again.
