Field bean
Who can spot the aphid?
The same family as our well-known broad bean (vicia faba). We grow them to sell usually going for animal feed but if we have a really high quality crop they could be exported to North Africa and the Middle East for human consumption. They are dry not young and green when we harvest them. The beans are a good crop to grow for heavy land as they break up heavy soil and fix the nitrogen content.
Extra: the postman continues - this time a chick or chicken!
And another: young stock chewing the cud.
