Diary of an Edinburgher

Cake? (Day 59)

I sat in the sun again in the morning, and only went in to do my bike when a few clouds came. I want to do the bike because I’m really enjoying 2012 again. It’s a classic. And it’s a half hour episode.

JR went out for her morning run earlier than usual, before it ‘gets too hot’...

I took a notion to bake a banana cake loaf bread. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to write that before - not while I’ve been blipping anyway. Though I did make the daily chocolate liqueur cake when we had a restaurant (in the 80s). It was foolproof, as you soaked it with liqueur, so it was never too dry.

It was so easy! Mind you, JR kindly got all the stuff out, as I don’t know where the baking powder etc is kept. And it was very yummy. Very very yummy.

I was working up to going out for a walk with JR and Archie, even a longish walk... then JR suddenly remembered that she was expecting a delivery in the afternoon. Yay! I offered to stay at home instead. They can range further and faster without me slowing them down. JR did 16,000 steps today. I did 3,429 (on the bike).

New Zealand was out of lockdown today (yesterday for them). Didn’t they do well!

Clapping for carers tonight.
