On its last legs?

Our ceanothus is very old and every year I wonder if it will bloom again as so many dead bits have to be cut off, there is also a hole in its base, but here it is again, doing what it does best.
Quite windy today, very cloudy, but not quite as cold as yesterday, the weather's improving!
