A truly English eccentric lovely little church
All Saints Brantingham is a small church apart from the village in a lovely wooded valley, and they have always been a jolly lot there, for instance the notice on the post reads
"We would love to help you move from Lockdown to Wedlock"
It is of course twelfth century and while being described as renovated has the most amazing six inch jagged crack up the face of the towel that appears to have been repaired by someone not gifted or troubled by high quality workmanship
I can't explain why I love it as it is , but being Scottish, and English too, I'm probably half mad anyway.
Every time I see this crack I ponder whether at some time in the past they had upset God enough for him to express a limited level of displeasure, certainly quite strongly enough not to be ignored!
They even run a little in church coffee shop after services, what more can you ask?
