The Shard

Having been to see the Cutty Sark at last and the incredible Ansel Adams exhibition at the National Maritime Museum, I caught the river taxi back upstream to go see the Shard*. Up close it is certainly impressive, but so tall it's difficult to really appreciate its scale. From across the river, however, it looks stunning. I only had a compact camera with me and a not very good small tripod - it would be great to have the opportunity to photograph it properly. In fact it struck me how great London looks after dark, especially near the river, and what photographic potential there is.

*if you fancy a visit to the viewing gallery on the top (72nd) floor, it's a mere £25 each See here
