My neighbour told me that Blue Tits were nesting in her old, rusty gate post
so of course, I had to have a look.
Early in the day I caught the adults returning with small green caterpillars.
The birds were very wary of my presence and spent ages away from the nest so I left them in peace after I got a few shots.

At dusk I walked down the lane to see the owls but apart from one adult flying out of the large oak tree (but not returning), there were no photo opportunities.
However, before it got too dark I was able to locate the exact position of the nest and I was thrilled to see two chicks, one much larger than the other, on the outer branches vigorously flapping their wings.
