Bleeding hearts
This flower fascinates me and I've only been aware of it for a couple of years or so. It is apparently a member of the poppy family and is native to Siberia, northern China, Korea and Japan. It is the sole species in the monotypic genus Lamprocapnos, for what that's worth, but it's clearly unique in botanical terms as well as visually. It is poisonous to cattle, sheep and dogs as well as humans. I found it on my way back from the chemist's in the gardens of Falcon Court, one of my favourite blip-hunting grounds. I discovered a garden bench and sat on it for a while (it was in a secluded spot, although it was still quite cheeky of me) and that's where I found this plant.
