Corvus frugilegus
We have daily flypasts by rooks, crows and jackdaws and, although the jackdaws will pop down for food when the coast is clear, I've never seen the crows and rooks so much as stop. So, it was a very pleasant surprise for me just now when I looked out to see this beautiful rook sitting on top of one of the pine trees.
In other news, Polly is going to have an x-ray on Monday to see what's going on with her hind left leg, and then we'll have more of an idea of what we're up against. Meanwhile, she seems quite perky and is eating very well.
