Up and down

Had a bit of a daft week, emotions all over the place. Good job I’m on holiday from my GPN role.

It’s finally registered with me that I romanticised my previous time as a practice nurse and now it’s much more corporate and cut-throat.
Yes the patients come first but I don’t think they realise how much they are underpaying the nurses and because most PNs are in post for donkey’s years they haven’t had to compete.

I’ve done a lot of soul searching and will be looking for a hospital based job or even resigning and working on the nurse bank until I find something better (once bank shifts are available, they have been significantly curtailed due to C-19).

So sorry to off-load here, but this is my safe space.
