Locked down loons
We were only at the end of the road when I realised I'd forgotten my phone. Dan asked if I wanted to go back and get it. I asked if he had his. He didn't. Hm.
I wasn't so worried about the communications aspect - thank Jobs for the Apple Watch* - as much as the lack of camera. Still, I thought, it won't do me any harm to go out without my phone for once. Of course, the whole of our walk was riddled with photo opportunities.
We took a new route, today, going through the churchyard at Whittington to pick up a lovely little path down to the road and then on to the river, where we encountered the splendid 'Lune Valley Ramble' To be honest, I'd never heard of this before but it runs from Lancaster Station to Devil's Bridge, and that's become my running ambition for the year.
Anyway, Dan and I followed the ramble north, soon picking up a stretch we were familiar with that brought us up to just below Stanley Bridge. The river is pretty deep there - even as as it's got so shallow everywhere else - so we left the rucksack and our shoes on the bank and went for a swim.
It was a lot warmer than last week inasmuch as quickly adapted to the cold and had an enjoyable swim around for a while before scrambling back out for digestives and beer.
Anyway, I couldn't capture any of that on 'film' so here's a shot of Dan and Abi that I took later on.
