Sheltering

I was lucky enough to get this little one sheltering from the wind. All the other bees and flies were busy gathering pollen.

As I tried to get a picture of a bee coming out of a prickly pear blossom, I saw something slithering through the cactus. The extra shows the snake tentatively looking at me. This is the first time I have seen one close to the house. (actually in the neighbors front yard) Now I know what all those holes are about!
