Luxury

Today we had some cheese and grapes for lunch, nothing special about that, except it got me thinking about their origin.
 
Well, the cheese was Scottish but the grapes were from half way around the world, over 8,000 miles from Chile, by ship using marine diesel,
a mixture of chemicals known to be highly pollutant.
 
So– are grapes an unnecessary luxury?
