First poppy

This is the first poppy I have seen this year. It was all by itself in the field but I walked on a bit further and saw several more on the bank of the dyke.
I have been checking the weather forecast for frost. I saw yesterday that the temperature would drop to about 4 degrees. As I was dropping off to sleep I thought about bringing the plants in but turned over and went to sleep. Sure enough there was a light frost. Fortunately only two of the seedlings I was hardening off were damaged by it.
