View from the flag pole
Unlimited exercise as of today which meant I go to Queens Park in the morning and have a leisurely stroll through Pollok Park in the afternoon, which I did, after an afternoon nap of deep satisfying sleep.
The cygnets have yet to arrive but one of the swans was standing up over the eggs in the nest so that could be a hopeful sign. I hadn’t really explored the park properly until today and was rewarded will some great views form the flag pole point, which like the rest of the park was relatively quite in spite of the glorious morning. So its todays blip and you can see the snow still very much in evidence on the summit and slopes of Ben Lomond about 30 miles away. Glasgow university looks very close, a trick of the camera.
From the flagpole view point and walked towards Langside Road and passed the Glasshouses where I spotted this wooden sculpture of a bear in tree, it’s the extra blip for today. Back home via east Pollokshields – Moray Place still elusive, albeit I must have been very close today.
Delicious lunch – asparagus (sparrow grass), nutty cheese and tomatoes followed by a devon scone I bought from the small M&S on Pollokshaws Road.
Second walk was uneventful apart getting a close view, briefly, of a fine great spotted woodpecker who was making a great racket.
