High Key Feather

Last night’s ‘Zoom memorial’ went as well as could be expected. Such a difficult time. We did tune into our son and daughter afterwards and had a long chat with them which lightened the mood a little.

Still feeling slightly deflated after our buffoon-in-chief’s address last night - how incompetent is he?? Why does he feel the need to emphasise - every - single - word - in - a - sentence…… what a dreadful speaker. How to cause confusion across the country - not helped by today’s contradictory statements by Raab.

I am sure we will be in lockdown again before long - especially after the lack of social distancing at the VE day parties! It seems so busy out here already - and nothing is supposed to have changed until Wednesday. Allowing primary schools to open will be a time bomb - they are petri dishes for germs at the best of times - and there is no way that classes of 5 and 6 year olds can be taught whilst observing social distancing.

Played with another new technique today - not quite as successful (I don’t think) as the black background experiment. For this shot the background is flooded by two flash guns (speedlights) to give pure white (or as near as I could get it) and the feather placed in front of the background - but behind the flashes so they do not light it directly.
