Moules Marinieres

Living as we do in landlocked suburbia, fresh shellfish are a rare delicacy. I have found to my cost that local restaurants (apart from Loch Fyne) are hopeless when it comes to mussels - if they have them they overcook them - and the supermarkets are a waste of time. However an unexpected free half hour found me in Waitrose - and there they were - bags of fresh rope grown Scottish mussels. What else could I do?

The kids of course thought I was mad. But it is their loss.
