Swarms...
I went for a little trip today (only 10 miles away ) as a little pre birthday treat to Oaken wood on the Surrey / Sussex border, I felt very bad going, but I am going stir crazy (as I am sure everyone is) and I only saw 3 people while i was there and they were all at least 12 feet away as the passed.
It was a beautiful warm sunny day and there was lots to photograph - and blip! In the end i decided on these Green longhorn moths Adela reaumurella, which as you can see were swarming in the hundreds round this oak tree.
They are common enough little woodland moths, but only twice have i seen them flying in such large swarms.
