The calm

after the storm.

Minutes before taking this photo there was a huge thunderstorm overhead, thunder, lightning, hail, planes approaching the aiport in a very wide and cautious circle rather than flying directly overhead and of course the dog cowering in the cellar.

Now the sky is turning blue just as the sun sets, I'd have blipped that instead but someone (aged 15) decided to use the bathroom for its proper purpose so denying me access to my favoured window.

Today has been a lovely day, have achieved nothing but then again I didn't set out to achieve anything and actually the day's not done yet, so who knows?

I managed to walk the dog in the dry - huge result seeing as the weather forecast was threatening a 99% chance of rain for most of the day but especially the morning (which is the favoured time, because otherwise Logan gets cabin fever).

Had a lovely, long and chatty brunch with 5 expat girlfriends where I ate so much I didn't need to refuel until teatime (6pm, main meal for those yanks that don't understand English English) and topics of conversation covered everything from books we were reading/had read to schooling issues and the language confusion possible when talking about clothing.

Then in the afternoon I met up with a new expat friend for coffee, before racing to the train station to collect a child.

I guess now I'm home I should do something useful and practical like prepare the evening meal...on the otherhand I could surf the web to try and sort out where to go at Easter!
