Diverted

Today was supposed to be the Harriers' 10k road race. Prompted by a midweek message from the race organiser, club members are doing what we can to run the race virtually, and get lots of happy photos of us in club colours onto social media [see extra!]. Some locals are running the course individually, but Django and I aren't road runners so, from the road race start, we headed to the hills. I finished my 10k just after Silverburn and, with Django back on a lead, chilled in the Estate and the nearby woods (where the colour of the new beech leaves was so beautiful [see extra]) before reaching the road race finish.

In a priceless commentary on our times, when one local saw a road diversion and the encouraging messages we'd chalked on the race route, he assumed that the race was going ahead as usual and let rip on our local Facebook forum!
