The cheek of it

Today I spotted some pigeons in the cherry tree from my home office. Unfortunately I was on a call and could only watch in horror as they picked off the still green and quite small cherries! Needless to say, my mind was not on the job and as soon as the call finished I ran downstairs and chased them off.
A few years ago I heard that if you want to keep pigeons off your cabbage patch you hang CDs in there. So when I had a clear out of my CD collection I decided to put them in my gardening drawer- “just in case”.

I never had a cabbage patch but now my collection has come to good use. I decorated the cherry tree with the CD’s and was very pleased with the result. The sun catches them and they reflect a myriad of colours making my cherry tree look a bit like a summer Christmas tree.

Back to work...and I can keep an eye out, no birds spotted there yet!
