Bunting

We spent the morning decorating the front of the house for VE Day. We had found the home made bunting we made in 2012 for the street party we held at our old house. It hasn’t had an airing since so needed a bit of untangling and ironing ! Anyway my tall son was a great help putting it up. A quick bit of mowing and strimming before lunch. We were disappointed not to see the Spitfire fly by - a bit too low - but we heard it. Just after 3pm we had our front garden drinks and cake - quite a few of the neighbours were out and it was lovely to speak to everyone face to face - albeit at a safe distance. The weather was glorious and we all finally drifted inside about 5.30pm for our respective dinners. We took an evening walk round the local lake after dinner. Apparently there are some cygnets there but the Swans were keeping them safe on the small island so we didn’t see them. Maybe next time. All in all a lovely day.
