La La Laaa!
I was hunting through some stuff I packed away years ago and came across this lovely old Banksia nut that I've had for a long time.
The seed openings really remind me of little mouths singing :) and I used the fish eye lens to emphasise them even more.
Many different types of this tree grow here in the south west corner of Western Australia. The flowers are extremely colourful and beautiful and full of nectar which attracts birds and insects. The nut is what's left when the flower dies off.
It's a very unusual and interesting looking nut. This one is mounted on a little plinth for use as an ornament.
I had forgotten I had it and I'm really glad I've found it again.
