Dock Bug

Found this morning while I was taming the jungle, I'd never seen one of these before so sent the picture to the bug to the Royal Society of Entomologists ID service. https://www.royensoc.co.uk/identifying-insects who confirmed the ID by the end of the day.

The rest of the day was punctuated with VE day activities, 2 minute silence on our doorstep, gardening to a 1940's soundtrack thanks to the sound engineer at the other end of the development. Then a very low key, socially distanced, street party on our front lawn.
