Winston

This little figure is about 3" high in old money and his name has cropped up a lot today during the VE Day commemorations today.
My late brother who died a few years ago was called up when he was 18 and spent a lot of time in Egypt and nearly died of sunstroke.  I was only 2 when he left and he married soon after he was demobbed so I never really got to know him.  His diaries and letters have made interesting reading when I was investigating the family tree.
I often wonder at the strength of my mother, as my father was in the First World War and she then had a son in the Second.
