75th V.E. Celebrations

Lovely sunshine to sit outside our front door having 4 o'clock tea/coffee and cakes, in our case squishy cakes and coffee. We are in elevated position so we could look along the road.

I was 7 years old for the first of these street parties and remember sitting at trestle tables with other children (no cars!!) and mothers providing the food which must have been difficult in times of rationing.

Extra is one of the decorated houses from our morning walk.
