Lockdown Flora Day

Being a Helstonian I make the annual pilgrimage back home to celebrate Flora Day, which would have been today, and am privileged to be invited to play in the band, leading the dancers through the streets. Sadly it wasn't to be this year so various virtual Flora Day events have been going on. I've actually posted a 'trio' rendition on YouTube.  

And not only did we get a dozen pasties delivered and distributed to the family but, since Bern and Jan, Mrs K's mum and dad, have also been down to Flora Day every year for the last umpty-ump years, me and D did a brief parade in their garden, at a suitable distance of course. We even got applause from one of the neighbours!


We've been proud too to hang up the bunting as a tribute to all the real heroes recognised in the VE day celebrations. Hats off indeed.
