VErity Day
In addition to VE Day it is also the day Verity has become a teenager!
Her birthday is the day after her mums whom l’m sure remembers eating in Pizza Express to celebrate her own birthday when her pains started ( l wonder if they boxed up her pizza to take home? Could have come in handy for a long labour)
So after not driving for months l went again today just to pop in with her present.
The traffic was definitely heavier than yesterday but still so different from a normal national holiday.
After today l don’t intend driving over to see them for a long time.
As they live just behind the castle l went up Skipton High Street and l don’t think l’ve ever seen it so deserted.
I know most of you already know about how things have changed but l feel as if l have just come out into the big wide world.
Once there l put her present on the out door table, had a nice chat then came home having cadged a bottle of red.
I don’t know if l mentioned it but on the eve of Mr P coming out of hospital on January 3rd l declared l wouldn’t have anymore alcohol while l was looking after him as l wanted to be ready for anything, l expected to be teetotal for about a week at the most.... my liver must now be the healthiest it’s been for years
I have cropped the photograph within an inch of its life - see the extra for the social distancing shot.
