Small silver lining

For 15 years, I have been in New York every April and May, so I’ve entirely missed the blooming period of my purple clematis. I hear about it from neighbors, though, because the clematis vine is on the outer garden fence, so the flowers decorate the neighborhood for a brief few weeks. Now, at long last, I’m here in person to see it!
