Exotic bloom

I've only seen these in posh bouquets before so was astounded to see one actually growing. No idea what it is but I wouldn't mind one in my garden.
Off to Parapara beach this morning, just us on another huge expanse of sand with wild views outwards.
Grandies' duty and such fun as Esme us now starting to get into imaginative play - stones get put in buckets, are carefully arranged, then scooped up, moved and repeat. The teddies were also carefully arranged in her wigwam and some like to listen to stories too.
A late after noon stroll out to Rotarai where the sea had disappeared. Then a scavenge of the last dropped feijoas on a neighbours tree, the harvest has been abundant.
