Striking!

She might not fit the conventional image of 'attractive' but she is certainly striking. This 75mm long female Hedge grasshopper (also know as the Giant Grasshopper) made an attempt to get into the kitchen today. Look at those red sting-tipped spines on the legs, apparently used to fight off predators. Australian wildlife!
