Being on furlough means I can't switch on my laptop or phone ...... but I can spend time in the workshop trying to get some candlesticks out of some tired oak that's been kicking around for a while.

And this morning I took the latest Open University session on Interpreting the Dutch Masters ..... excellent free short course.

I had to brush up on my Latin .... “Omne tulit punctum qui miscuit utile dulci” ..... he who unites the useful with the pleasant is praised & “docere et delectare” ... to instruct and delight. Ways of seeing and reading the Dutch masters - Dutch Painting of the Golden Age. Brilliant!
