Kormo The Cormorant
Today was a scorcher so took the bus to Kladow .Many wonderful birds greylag geese with goslings..., herons , the lot. However my blip had to be the above very young cormorant .Named Kormo -this lovely bird was quite small and exhausted .Hence it climbed out and decided to have a nibble at some rubbishy food given to a Canada Geese Had it been able to speak ,'yuk' would have been heard .It was so tame and enjoyed being gently stroked . Met a man with his 5 year old son. The boy was intrigued and very gentle with Kormo ..These photos are being sent email to him since it was his birthday last week and dad had no camera .We stuck around to see the bird return to the water and swim .The extra shows the drying of feathers ..Essential for all cormorants.
