Rig

It was a fun but short weekend and after a trip to the National Railway Museum at Shildon, County Durham, we drove back to my dads via a the beach road to see the sea! I love the seaside and the only thing wrong with where I live now as it takes so long to get the the coast plus the bit nearest to us isn't really a proper beach but rather a series of mud flats :(

One of the things they are doing off the coast at Seaton Carew in the north east is to build a wind farm - it is probably a good palce for this as it is always windy (and is certainly much better than the nuclear power station which is a little bit along the coast)!

This blip is of the rig they use to drill the holes into the seabed that the windmill will eventually sit in (or at least this is what my dad told me). He did get a bit cross with me though as I insisted on driving all around Hartlepool just so I could get a good shot of the rig. It isn't really beautiful but it does look kindof pretty in an odd sort of way (or at least I think so)
