Johnnie Walker Blue... The Scotsman's Elixir

Tonight was the gathering of 4 people with one common interest... whisky. And one particular brand - Johnnie Walker. It began one evening last summer around a dinner table when conversation turned to this drink and how 3 of them aimed to club together and buy a bottle of the legendary Johnnie Walker Blue, retailing at around £160 a bottle. A 4th person was pulled into the deal, though she had little experience of this drink known as whisky. A few months later a bottle was spied in an airport at a much reduced cost, and they knew that now was the time. As a reward for their boldness they recieved also a token bottle of JW Green and JW Gold. Since then tastes have developed and friendships strengthened, but always one rule remains - the Blue can only be drunk when all 4 are present. Tonight was the 3rd of such meetings, and was a special kind, as for the first time the group could taste in succession all varieties of the JW brand, as pictured above. All are a great pleasure to enjoy, but none are so fine as Our Blue.
