Megan's Game

Megan has never really understood the game of 'fetch' where you throw a ball and the dog chases and brings it back to you for you to throw it again. She is very ball conscious and is constantly jumping up demanding that you throw a ball. However, when she has chased the ball she does not on the whole come back to you but lies down guarding the ball,  expecting you to go and try and get the ball from her but as soon as you get anywhere near she will pick the ball up in her mouth and run off so it becomes a game of 'chasey' rather than 'fetch'. We try and use biscuit treats to distract her so we can pick the ball up but that does not always work. She also has a habit of dropping balls down rabbit holes where it is usually impossible to recover them. As you might guess we go  through a lot of balls. Fortunately she is also very good at spotting discarded balls that other dogs have left so our supplies do not usually run out.
