The Red Head
We refer to this red-bellied woodpecker as the “red head” in our house because his name is so misleading. April was the first time seeing him/her at our suet feeder. There must be a pair as they prepare their nest in April, and then in May the fun begins, it’s breeding season. It’s been about a week since we’ve seen one, until today. I also made some homemade nectar for the hummingbirds and put up a feeder to welcome them back today. I also put out some oranges hoping a Baltimore Oriole might make an appearance. That has never happened, but a girl can dream, can’t she? Be well, Blippers!
