Snips and Snaps

Thawing

The fields are awash with meltwater from the weekend's snow but 10 degrees on the way home. H and I had a run on Winter Hill and amazingly didn't get rained on, although the blustery winds made it hard going on the way down. We choose to run without headtorches as we stick to the service road in the dark which takes us all the way up to the trigpoint. On the way down we could see a single runner coming towards us with a powerful headtorch pointing at the ground. He obviously hadn't spotted us - when we reached him we shouted a greeting above the wind giving the poor bloke a hell of a fright. We were just near the monument to the murdered Victorian traveller at the time - he was well and truly spooked. Can't wait to be back running in daylight in the evenings - not long now : )
