Paintings of the Day

One of our "kids" from way back...Trever...is quite a fisherman. So, when Lisa showed me the picture that he posted on Facebook on the Michigan trout season opener...I had to try to paint it.

The bottom one was a little easier. I just took his picture, enlarged it, copied it onto a canvas, and painted it. I did end up having three problems. The baseball cap, the mouth, and the nostrils. Thankfully, he had sunglasses on.

As for the top one, I found an artist I liked on Pinterest named David Witbeck, and I tried to imitate his style. The fish becomes huge, and the head shrinks. Plus, as you can see...no face details. YES!

By the way, Trever's brown trout measured 21 inches, the biggest one he has ever landed. I hope he likes the paintings.
