21 years old today

Oh my word. What a crazy day. DougsJB is 21 and the day ran something like this ...

1. Presents, all downstairs
2. A light breakfast
3. DougsJB goes for his 1st run of the day on the treadmill and I go off to collect files from various London offices and do some work and a Sainsburys shop
4. A not-so-light lunch of pancakes, maple syrup & bacon, followed by pancakes, fresh fruit & cream - his choice
5. Jelly - in 4 flavours, reminiscent of a well-remembered party when he turned 5
6. Pass-the-parcel with photos, sweets & tasks between the wrappers
7. Pin the tail on ... Donald Trump
8. A well-tried game of ‘throw-Cheerios-on-your-brothers-face-which-is-covered-in-shaving-foam’ to reverse the roles. DougsJB has been the one covered in foam for too many years. This time he threw Cheerios.
9. DougsJB goes off on his 2nd run, this time outside sporting new kit
10. We all get ready for the evening as Elbows orders in pizza
11. We eat pizza
12. We zoom call LongLegs, SkyeMan & HatBox. LongLegs has organised 21 rounds of a family quiz with a difference. I am so lousy at general knowledge, I asked him to think outside the box. And boy, was it outside the box. Despite far too much family competitiveness, it was lots of fun and brilliantly done. DougsJB won (of course!).
13. Dot.T and NoaNoa set the snug up as a Night Club, because DougsJB doesn’t ‘do’ nightclubs, and I don’t think he’s ever been to one. They sorted drinks, a bouncer, flashing lights, a play list and suitable decorations. Funny stuff.
14. Party bags. DougsJB had a thing about getting a party bag at his own parties.
15. Bed. In the small hours.

Oh, and throughout the day, in the background, he had The Cricket World Cup Final on.

So now 3 of them have had a 21st. Dot.T is next, in 22 months. I may have got over this one by then. ;-)
