Arachnophobia

This evening I found this rather big spider as I was tidying up the kids toys in the corner of the room. My children were present at the time but I managed to make the discovery sound very exciting! I secretly grabbed this glass from the kitchen and caged the spider in before alerting my children! Who were actually rather intrigued and got up very close to have a look!

They did cower slightly when I picked it up and put it outside, but then they stood at the window and watched him scuttle across the patio and disappear into the stones.

I know that children pick up on parents behaviours and anxieties and whilst I was a little nervous about this spider (even though I know logically that it couldn't hurt me), I try hard not to pass on any phobias of mine.

I think today I was successful!!
