Caird Hall

I had a meeting in town today just next to this.

James Caird was a jute baron in the 1800's, was said to be a good employer and invested a lot of money in Dundee. This is a large concert hall but a park, hospital building, university building were also founded by him and he sponsored Shackleton's Antarctic expedition. The boat that took 6 of the party to South Georgia to get help to rescue the rest was called after him.
