The Corona Diaries, day #47

Un petit bouquet de muguet... lily of the valley, left on the doorstep by our 96-year-old neighbour. Traditionally offered on 1st May as a token of luck.

A bank holiday, la Fête de Travail (Labour Day), and even if we’re never really sure what day it is at the moment, we gave ourselves a day off for the occasion.

Gaël deserved one... after being called into work at the last minute yesterday morning, he was called out again at 11pm because of an alarm going off on one of the machines. He came home at around 1am ... after hitting a badger on the road and losing the front bumper on the car. Typical... the car's hardly been out of the garage for 7 or 8 weeks, and still we manage to have an accident.
No one was hurt (apart from the poor old badger... RIP)  and in today's world, we both still have our jobs and our health, so it really, really doesn't matter, but ... pfffff!

So... today: no work and back to the no usual weekend routine of housework (a little bit) and gardening (as much as possible, between showers), and oooh look, is that an apéritif?

Cheers, and enjoy your weekend.
