Crinoids
After yesterday's sad affair on the scar (& yes I reported it to the National Park Authority, along with a number plate) we wandered out again today between heavy downpours.
There are lots of reasons this landscape is special and protected. Sat on a rock watching Missy play I looked down at the ground and found this, another part of the rich geology of here. Not my strong suite but I think this has a dense enough concentration of fossilised Crinoids (a 300m years ago, still around today, marine life form) that with its sharp sandy texture it could be classified as Encrinite.
Philosophy Friday
Long after the scars and petty toils of man are gone the land remembers all.
