Today we are all Hokies

At noon today they held a vigil in Monroe Park. At noon thousands of us gathered for a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the VT Tragedy. (I refuse to call it a massacre) It was incredibly moving and emotional. Toward the end, they called out all of the victims names with chimes, and all around the tears flowed from our hearts. I cannot fathom what the surviving students, the injured, the family, and the friends are feeling. I watched Nikki Giovanni speak and was moved to the point of tears. I respect that Giovanni notes: we will not move on, we will embrace this tragedy, but WE WILL PREVAIL.

I wear the VT ribbon in memory.
