May Day
And suddenly it's May already, and May Day even. Beltane Day and the beginning of a new season long before it became also Labour Day for many countries. In France, Belgium and Switzerland children would pick lilies-of the valley for their mothers and grandmothers on this day and these sweet smelling flowers are still a symbol for wishing luck in these countries. A bit strange because as lovely as they are all their parts are highly toxic. We seem to have many of them in shaded parts of the garden this year, but like everything they appeared early and are almost past their prime.
Here's hoping May may bring some hope for all of us, we need all the luck there is to get over this dreadful pandemic. For Flower Friday with thanks to Anni/BikerBear for hosting.
Thanks very much for all the Abstract Thursday entries and thank you as always for the kind comments support and stars.
