A Bit Close?

I thought I would bung the extension tubes on the camera and go and get some pictures of the raindrops the Lady's Mantle.
When going for a real close up on the crab-apple flowers I made the mistake of using both extension tubes and the wider end of the zoom. 
Interesting that I can focus on the front element of the lens (as seen in the main Blip).
Even more interesting that the lens wasn't as wide as it could go which means I could focus on something actually inside the lens.

I had a lady call round to collect some of the tadpoles from my pond today. She is a nursery teacher and had been looking for spawn so the kids could watch the life-cycle. Just a shame she left it too late to ask for spawn.
